Role Purpose
Optimize production processes to enhance efficiency, deliver cost savings, improve quality, and support new product and process introductions.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Plating Production Manager, Engineering, and Process Control Lab to develop plating capacity and recommend actions to meet plant output requirements.
- Ensure product quality, enhance process capabilities, and achieve cost improvements in partnership with the Plating Production Manager.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures to ensure the most efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality processes.
- Formulate process control strategies and track metrics to identify improvement areas and monitor upgrades.
- Work closely with the QA department to implement process controls and utilize Lean techniques for maintaining acceptable product quality.
- Support the Plating department and Engineering in troubleshooting and resolving production equipment issues.
- Ensure all processes comply with safety and environmental regulations.
- Manage the Process Control Laboratory, including overseeing holidays, sickness, absence, and staff development.
- Lead continuous improvement activities within the department.
- Ensure operational key services for the plating shop and liaise with engineering on equipment failures.
- Serve as the point of contact with Thames Water regarding trade effluent discharge.
- Produce COSHH assessments.
- Manage compliance with RoHS, REACH, Cal.Prop65, and TSCA regulations.
- Assist the Sales Department in preparing quotations for plated parts.
- Lead projects within the plating shop.
- Train operators on new processes.
